TP 1720 - Considerations for Windows 98
Applicable to: World-Wide
Below is a list of considerations for running Windows 98 on your ThinkPad 1720
- If Windows 98 is re-installed without using the recovery CD and Windows 98 sound recorder is used, then recorded sounds will not be played back correctly. To avoid this, open the Modem Properties in Device Manager, select configuration 0001, and assign I/O range 3e8h-3efh, and select IRQ4. Then re-start the system.
- When docked to Port Replicator with Advanced EtherJet, the modem and com port can not be used simultaneously without manually assigning resource to the com port. Please visit the following Web site for more details. http://www.pc.ibm.com/thinkpad
- Some PC cards currently working on Windows 95 may not be fully functional when operating under Windows 98 on these machines. For the latest status visit the ThinkPad Web Site at: http://www.pc.ibm.com/thinkpad
- To use the zoom video feature, you must obtain a card with explicit Windows 98 support.
