14.4 PCMCIA International Data/Fax Modem - Speaker noise with modem installed

Service Information:
The IBM DATA/FAX modem may generate speaker noise during the entire transmission of data. Normally , data transmission noise will stop when an off-hook signal is recognised by the system unit.

Feature code is FC3635
Option Number is 42G2582
Fix:
A new level of the modem fixes the problem. The new level can be identified by looking at the serial number. The first three digits must be 345 or greater. The serial number is located on the back of the modem.Example of serial Number : 345RCXXXXY X=Numeric Y=Alpha
