The Cordless Computer Connection provides wireless interface between a PC modem and the wall's RJ-11jack. Features include:

• Connections at or above 33.6Kbps at a range of 200 ft from the base. The range is not limited to line of sight and can operate between walls and floors.
• Transparent to type of data sent across the link. Any modulation, compression, error correction or protocol can be sent.
• 9-bit security code
• Operational input range from telephone line: -9 to -29dBm

• The remote unit's batteries will be charged when it is set into the base unit's cradle.

Power supply:
Please be advised, the Panasonic battery KX-TC8 that ships with the IBM Cordless Computer Connection will be phased out. Panasonic battery KX-A36 will replace the original battery as supply of the original is depleted. Either battery will work just fine.

Panasonic battery KX -A36 is designed and built with advanced technology, it makes use of a device named 'PolySwitch'. The PolySwitch functions as a circuit protection device. The PolySwitch open the battery circuit similar to a fuse, preventing current from flowing. Once the short has been removed, it will take time for the PolySwitch to recover and allow current to flow. This could take several hours to recover fully.

What happens when the PolySwitch opens the circuit? The symptom would be a dead battery for several hours and then low voltage out of the battery. The battery low LED would be on. If you have a dead battery or have just finished charging the battery and the low voltage LED is still on, please check for a KX-A36 battery in the remote. If so, remove the battery from the REMOTE unit and let stand for at least 8 hours to recover. Then reinstall the battery in the remote and recharge. If the problem still exists, the battery should be replaced.

The minimum requirements for non-IBM systems are modem and communications software and analog phone lines with tone dialing and manual answer only (auto answer not supported).

Limitations: Performance varies depending on conditions beyond the control of this device, such as the quality of the phone line to the house, physical obstruction between the base unit and the remote, and condition of the battery.
