PC Server 330 - Malfunctions with full length adapter in slot 6

Applicable to: World-Wide

The PC Server 330 Type 8640 model PB0, PM0, PT0, 11Y should not be configured with a full-length PCI adapter in system slot 6 (closest to the Power Supply).

If a full-length PCI adapter IS configured in system slot 6, there is risk of one end of the adapter touching the DASD Cage which may result in component leads / pins of the adapter shorting to Chassis ground via the DASD Cage causing
malfunctions of the adapter.

Half length adapters are not exposed to this risk, therefore preferred in slot 6.

No problems exist with full-length PCI adapters fitting into the other 5 system slots.
