General Information
This PCI Wide Ultra SCSI Adapter permits the attachment of high speed Ultra SCSI devices to network server computer systems and commercial desktop computers and is capable of supporting up to fifteen devices at once. Features include:

• "Bustermastering" Direct Memory Access (DMA) - Allows the adapter to control the transfer of data from the peripherals to the system memory, relieving the system processor of this time consuming burden.
• SCSISelect configuration utility - The SCSISelect configuration utility resident in the adapter's BIOS allows simple, on-screen configuration of the adapter and eliminates the need to manipulate jumpers or terminations during installation.
• 40MBps sustained synchronous data transfer rate - Provides up to 40MBps sustained synchronous data transfer rate
• 133Mbps host bus transfer rate - Allows up to 133Mbps host bus transfer rate using 32-bit PCI bus.
• Supports system boot from attached devices.
• Software-selectable active termination.
• Connects up to 15 Wide Ultra SCSI devices to the SCSI bus.
• Supports DOS HDDs with up to 8GB capacity.
• DMA Bus Master Technology reduces microprocessor overhead
• Utilizes advanced RISC-based technology for command processing.
• Handles any combination of 8-bit and 16-bit drives.
• SCSISelect resides in the adapter's BIOS allowing for simple, on-screen configuration of the adapter and eliminates the need to manipulate jumpers or terminations during installation.

Limitations: The IBM PCI Wide Ultra SCSI Adapter will support HDD capacities up to 8GB under DOS extended translation. HDD capacity is unlimited under all other operating systems. SCSI data transfer rates will be limited to that of the slowest SCSI protocol (SCSI, SCSI-2, SCSI-3) attached. Internal SCSI devices can either be connected to the 8-bit or the 16-bit internal SCSI connector, but both connectors cannot be used at the same time.
