TP 755,760,765 - How to Remove the MWave DAA Assembly

This document contains instructions on how to remove the DAA on a MWave ThinkPad.
ThinkPad 755 Enhanced:
1. Shutdown and power the ThinkPad off.
2. Lift up the keyboard.
3. Slide the blue switch located above the FDD connector to the left.
4. The DAA is now unlocked for removal. It is easier to remove the DAA if there is a phone line attached and lightly pull on the phone line.
5. To re-install the DAA simply push it back in and slide the blue switch to the right to lock it in place.
All other ThinkPads with MWave:
1. Shutdown and power the ThinkPad off.
2. Lift up the keyboard.
3. There will be a silver clip that straddles the DAA. Using your fingernail or a flat edge screwdriver lift the clip straight up.
4. The DAA is now unlocked for removal. It is easier to remove the DAA if there is a phone line attached and lightly pull on the phone line.
5. When the DAA is ejected there will be a black plastic piece which is a faceplate will come off on the outside along with the DAA.
6. To re-install the DAA simply push it back in, push the black faceplate back on, and place the silver retaining clip back on.
7. Slide the black switch back to the right to lock the DAA.
