DESCRIPTION

High-Performance Processor Subsystem
PC Server 320 systems are high-performance LAN servers scalable for growth. All models incorporate a powerful 133MHz or 100MHz Pentium processor with SMP upgrade capability, 256KB L2 write-back cache, and 16MB of system memory.

The 133MHz Pentium microprocessor handles internal operations at 133MHz clock speed, while the 100MHz Pentium operates at 100MHz internally. Both processors handle external I/O bus transactions at 66MHz.

16KB internal cache is standard, 8KB is used for data and 8KB is used for instructions.
High-performance 256KB write-back L2 cache uses 15 ns memory and can be upgraded to 512KB.

The system board contains a second microprocessor ZIF socket that supports a second 133MHz or 100MHz Pentium microprocessor for SMP operations. SMP processors must be of the same MHz frequency. PC Server 320 100MHz models can be upgraded to 133MHz by removing the 100MHz microprocessors and upgrading with one or two SMP 133MHz Upgrade Kits (94G5015).

16MB high-speed parity, 70 ns memory is standard, with total system memory expandable to 256MB.

Error correcting code (ECC)-on-SIMM memory options are available to support high-availability applications.
