Aptiva - Double-Spacing Occurs When Using Generic/Text Only Driver

A blank line will print after each line of text when a spreadsheet file, a database file, or a database report is printed from Microsoft Works for Windows when the Microsoft Windows operating system version 3.1 Generic/Text Only printer driver is used. This behavior does not occur when a word processor document is printed. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works for Windows. Since the problem will persist if you try to print with this printer driver from the spreadsheet or the database, one solution is to print spreadsheet and database documents from the Word Processor module. The output from spreadsheet and database files can be exported to the Word Processor for printing as described below: Spreadsheet and Database Files: There are two methods of exporting these files to the word processor module:
1. These files can be saved as text- and-tabs files, and then opened in the Word Processor and printed. To do this:
a. Open the file and choose Save As from the File menu.
b. Enter a new name into the File Name box.
c. From the Save File As Type box, select Text And Tabs or Text And Tabs (DOS) and choose the OK button.
d. Open this file as a word processing document.
2. The information in these files can also be directly copied to a new word processing document for printing. To do this:
a. Select all the information you want to print in the spreadsheet or select all the information you want to print in the list view of the database.
b. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.
c. Create a new word processing document and choose Paste from the Edit menu.
Database Reports:
The only option with a database report is to copy the report output directly to a word processing document. To do this:
1. In the Database Report Definition screen, choose Copy Report Output from the Edit menu.
2. Create a new word processing document.
3. From the Edit menu, choose Paste.
