TP 760C/CD/E/ED/XD,765D - Problems with ViaVoice 98 operating under Windows NT 4.0

SYMPTOM:

1. During the installation of the IBM Via Voice 98, the system fails with an error message that "The system failed to play a sound file. Please verify the system is setup correctly."
2. The microphone was disabled when loading the Voice Center.

CONFIGURATION:
This may occur on any ThinkPad 760 or 765 series systems with Mwave, running Windows NT 4.0.

SOLUTION:
Install the patch MWNTVV.EXE. This patch should resolve the Mwave problem when using the Via Voice applications on Windows NT 4.0. To download the patch and for installation instructions, click here.
