G50 Monitors - Shows vertical bands at left side of screen (EMEA Only)

ONLY AFFECTING Monitor using Philips ITCs.
A G50 monitor problem affecting boxes using Philips ITCs has been seen. In boxes on test that have been powered up for 24 hours or more, vertical bands have become apparent, extending out from the left side of the display area. This is similar to the familiar yoke ringing effect but it extends further across the display. Whether examples of this problem will show up on some boxes after a shorter running time isn't known. It is possible that customers will never see it.
A solution to this has been designed, a small choke reworked on to the ITC yoke assembly. A supply of these chokes plus
associated re-working instructions will be passed on to ELDG shortly. The re-work will be mandatory on any Philips ITC based G50 monitors submitted for repair. A part number and source of supply details are to be introduced to deal with future requirements for the choke.
Symptom:
The screen shows vertical bands running the full height of the image and spreading approximately 8cm across the screen from the left hand side.
Problem Isolation Aids:
Only the G50 monitor 6543-302 is affected (p/n 96G1574) if fitted with a Philips ITC. The model fitted with a Panasonic ITC is unaffected. No other model numbers of G50 are affected.
Fix:
DO NOT REPLACE THE ITC. Replace the common mode choke which is mounted on top of the ITC yoke card with the defined Samwha component p/n 60H8210.
