TP 600 - System hang when using Seagate Software Winland 4.0
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
The system will hang when running the collection agent of the system management software. The hang will occur during the processor test. It is dependent on the level of BIOS being used with the system. The original BIOS, dated 4/2/98, will not cause a hang. Using any later version of BIOS will cause a hang.
This has also been seen when running the hard drive assessment. It does not appear to be related to the revision of BIOS being used.
Configuration:
ThinkPad 600 using a BIOS dated later than 4/2/98 and using Seagate Software's Winland 4.0.
Solution:
Contact Seagate Software technical support. Seagate Software has developed new collection agents that will fix this problem. They will release the agents on an as needed basis.
