IBM PC330/PC350 - No video or system hang with Kurta video adapter
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
No video during POST and a system hang condition may occur in an IBM PC300 6576 and 6586 system that has a Kurta Video/Tablet Adapter installed
Problem Isolation Aids:
With the display installed on Kurta Adapter, there will be no visible memory count or IBM Logo. The system will hang almost immediately.
This failure only occurs in the IBM PC300 6576 & 6586.
Fix:
The Kurta Video/Tablet Adapter is designed in a manner which conflicts with the IBM BIOS code during POST. This causes the Kurta card to respond to the system prematurely which corrupts the BIOS data resulting in a system hang.
Customers that have purchased the Kurta Video/Tablet Adapter for use in an IBM PC300 6576 or 6586 should be directed back to their point of purchase.
