ABSTRACT: 2600 ECA-001 REPLACE SYS BRD/DC CARD DATED 9813 OR BELOW.
PURPOSE:
During any service action replace the Sysbrd/DC card with FRU P/N 10L1643, if the System Board's soldered DC/DC Card date code matches the PHYSICAL CHECK. Follow the instructions in the Detail Section to determine if the CPU also qualifies for replacement using this ECA.

PHYSICAL CHECK:
During any service action check the DC/DC card that is soldered to the System Board for a date code of 9813 or lower.
PREREQUISITES: NONE
COMPANION: NONE
CONCURRENT: NONE
DETAIL:
The 2600 may experience a system power, CPU or System board failure when operating with a DC/DC Card within the date code range in the PHYSICAL CHECK. The following symptoms can occur:
o No power on.
o CPU or System Board POST Errors.
o CPU or System Board diagnostic errors.
A System Board with a DC/DC card date code range listed in the PHYSICAL CHECK should be replaced during any service action using this ECA.
Because the DC/DC Card failure occurs in different areas of the card, different results can occur. Systems that operate correctly after the installation of the new System Board / DC/DC Card do NOT require CPU replacement, but systems that fail with CPU errors after System board / DC/DC card replacement can use
this ECA to also replace the CPU.
All System Boards with the identified DC/DC Card date codes have been purged from FRU stock. Old level system boards have been substituted to FRU P/N 10L1643. The old level System board FRU part numbers were: P/N 11J8581, P/N 05K3143, P/N 10L0892.
CPU cards consist of FRUs:
P/N 11J8600 133 MMX
P/N 05K3600 133 MMX
P/N 05K3601 150 MMX
P/N 10L0870 166 MMX
NOTES:
This ECA will expire on August 31, 1999.
Order all FRU parts locally, and record Time and Material to service code 33, ECA 001, and OTHER OFFICE 990.
