Aptiva - How to boot directly into MS-DOS Mode when running Windows 95

Explanation:
How to reconfigure your system to run DOS-based programs without first starting Windows 95 or without using the Windows 95 Boot Menu (F8).
Solution:
1. Power On the system and go into Windows 95.
2. Go to START -> PROGRAMS -> MS-DOS Prompt and click once.
3. Type EDIT C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT and press [ENTER].
4. Place the cursor at the end of the last line (at the bottom of the file) and press [ENTER].
5. Type C:\COMMAND.COM and press [ENTER].
6. Click on FILE, SAVE, FILE, and then on EXIT.
7. At the DOS prompt type EXIT and press [ENTER].
8. Go to START -> SHUTDOWN and click once.
9. From the SHUT DOWN WINDOW choose the RESTART THE COMPUTER option and select YES.
The computer now starts in DOS mode each time. To start Windows 95 from the DOS mode session, type EXIT or WIN and press [ENTER].
