IBM PC300GL (Type 6285) / PC300PL (Type 6892) / Netfinity 3000 - EMC blanking shields are difficult to remove

Symptom
Customers, Business Partners, and AAP Dealers may find that when attempting to remove the EMC blanking shields in DASD bays 2 and 3, the shields do not remove (pop out) easily in order to install DASD devices in one, or both of the expansion bays.
Problem Isolation Aids
This tip applies to the following machine types manufactured before October 01, 1998:
IBM PC300GL Series 6285, All Models
IBM PC300PL Series 6892, All Models
IBM Netfinity server 3000 Type 8476, All Models
Systems manufactured after October 01, 1998 feature a re-designed EMC blanking shield and are not affected.
Fix
No hardware replacement is required.
The EMC blanking shield(s) may be successfully removed by applying a firm left and right (rocking) motion with an appropriate tool (e.g. screwdriver), in the left and right rectangular slots in the EMC blanking shield as shown below:

The center edges of the shield should separate first, followed by the left and right ends. Care must be taken not to scratch or scuff the front bezel when removing the shields(s).
After applying an adequate amount of rocking motion to the EMC blanking shield, the shield will break free and lift out of the base frame assembly.
