TP 380,385,560X,770 - General protection exception in Windows 95 running PKUNZIP
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
PKUNZIP causes General Protection Exception in Windows 95 MS-DOS Prompt session on ThinkPad 380, 385, 560X and 770.
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad running Windows 95 and using the CardWorks PCMCIA drivers.
SOLUTION:
Use the PKUNZIP '-)' parameter to disable DPMI usage. The WINZIP program is highly recommended as an alternative.
Because of the SystemSoft CardWorks PCMCIA drivers, PKUNZIP's 32 bit DPMI usage must be disabled by using the '-)' parameter. Consult the PKUNZIP 'ADDENDUM.DOC' file for setting this parameter as default.
