Aptiva-PS/1 - Using File Manager to search for files

Use this procedure to search for a specific file, directory, or group of files in File Manager.
1. Open the directory window you want.
2. From the File menu choose Search.
3. Type the name of the file or directory you want to search for. You can search for a group of files or directories with similar names or extensions using these wildcard characters. Type * (asterisk) to indicate more than one unknown character. Type ? (question mark) to indicate a single unknown character. For example, you might type W*.DOC to search for all files with the extension .DOC and start with the letter W.
4. If you only want to search the current directory and any sub-directories, the 'Search All Subdirectories' option should be checked. You can search the entire disk by typing "C:\" in the 'Start From:' box and making sure the 'Search All Subdirectories' option is checked.
5. Choose OK.
The results of the search are displayed in the Search Results box.
