TP 755,760 - Configuring and using Faxworks Voice Callcenter

How to run Call Center Quick Setup:

1. From Program Manager double click on the FaxWorks icon.
2. Double click on the Quick Setup icon.
3. Click Continue on the FaxWorks Voice 3.0 Quick Setup.
4. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Banner window fill in your name, company, fax number, on your voice phone number.
5. Click Continue.
6. On the Faxworks 3.0 Phone Line windows, select either pulse or tonedialing.
7. Click Continue.
8. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Station ID window, enter an identifier that will be displayed by the receiving fax machine.
9. Click Continue.
10. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Current Area Code Screen, enter your current area code.
11. Click continue.
12. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Local Dial Prefix window, enter any special codes that you have to dial to reach an outside line (eg. '9,').
13. Click continue.
14. On the FaxWorks 2.0 Long Distance Prefix window, enter any special codes needed to dial a long distance number. (eg. '1' or '9,1').
15. Click continue.
16. On the FaxWorks 3.0 International Prefix window, enter any special dialing code needed to place an international call. Leave blank if you do not need to dial an international prefix.
17. Click continue.
18. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Country Code window, enter the country code you are calling from. For the United States, use '1'.
19. Click on continue.
20. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Toll Saver window, select whether to enable or disable the Toll Saver feature. This will cause FaxWorks to answer after a different number of rings depending on whether you have received any messages or faxes.
21. Click continue.
22. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Prompt for Fax window, select whether to enable or disable FaxWorks' prompt for Fax. When enabled, FaxWorks will play a recorded message prompting the user to press '0' on his keypad to send a fax.
23. Click continue.
24. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Prompt for Message window, select whether to enable or disable the prompt for a caller to begin speaking after the tone.
25. Click on continue.
26. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Mailbox Name window, enter the name of the default mailbox.
27. Click OK.
28. On the FaxWorks 3.0 Mailbox Password window, enter a password for your mailbox. Re-enter it in the verify field.
29. Click OK.

At this point, you will either be prompted for registration, or you will get the error in step 30. You may choose to either register FaxWorks, or to wait until later.

30. If you get a FaxWorks Registration Window with the message "A fax modem could not be found on this computer. Some possible remedies are:", then Click continue.

Note: The fax modem should still function.

31) Click OK.
32) On the FaxWorks Setup Window, Click Yes to start Call Center. Otherwise click No.

How to Start Faxworks:
Windows 3.1:
1) From Program Manager, double click on the Faxworks icon.
2) Double click on the Call Center Icon.


Windows 95:
1) Click on the Start menu.
2) Select Programs.
3) Select FaxWorks.
4) Click on Call Center.

FaxWorks has now been started.

How to enable Automatic Reception setting in Call Center Fax Setup:
How to set the number or Rings for an incoming call:

1) Start FaxWorks Call Center.
2) Click on the Setup... button.
3) Click on the Fax Setup... button.
4) Under Receive Settings, Place mark in the box next to Automatic Reception.
5) Change the Rings Until Answer to the desired value. The default is 2.
6) Click on OK.

Your have now set Faxworks to Automatically receive faxes.

How to set Wake On Ring:
Wake On Ring is a feature of the ThinkPad, not FaxWorks. Therefore, the setting must be changed in the ThinkPad Features Utilities.

For the ThinkPad 755 series:
Windows 3.1
1. From Program Manager, double Click on the ThinkPad icon, double click on the Power icon.
2. Click on the More... button.
3. Under Resume options, place a mark next to Resume on incoming call.
4. Click OK.
5. Click OK.

Windows 95
1. Click on the Start menu, select Programs, ThinkPad, Power.
2. Click on the More... button.
3. Under Resume options, place a mark next to Resume on incoming call.
4. Click OK.
5. Click OK.

For the ThinkPad 760 series:
Windows 3.1
1. From Program Manager, double click on the ThinkPad icon, double click on ThinkPad Features.
2. Click on the Battery icon in the lower right hand corner of the window.
3. Click on the Suspend/Resume options icon (a cylinder with arrow pointing at it).
4. Under resume options, place a mark next to the Resume on incoming call.
5. Click on OK.
6. Close ThinkPad Features.

Windows 95
1. Click on the Start menu, select Programs, ThinkPad, ThinkPad Features.
