Question:
I start the Aptiva Communication Center and it beeps repeatedly. Why is this and how can I correct the beeping?
Answer:
If you start the Aptiva Communications Center and it is beeping constantly, it usually is because there is a fax waiting to be sent.
If you are not trying to fax, or you think the fax you were trying to send has become corrupted, then this fix will help you.
1. In Windows 95, click on "START" and choose "RUN". In Windows 3.1 at the Program Manager, click on "FILE" and choose "RUN".
2. Type COMMAND.COM in the text box and press "Enter".
3. At the MS-DOS prompt type CD\PHOENIX\FAX\QUEUE\OUT and press "Enter".
4. Type DEL *.CTL and press "Enter".
5. Type DEL *.TIF and press "Enter".
6. Type EXIT and press "Enter" to close the DOS window.
7. Restart Windows and the beeping should go away.
