To determine the version of ThinkPad Utilities or ThinkPad Configuration program installed on your system, please view the tables below.
The following is under the assumption that the files were stored in their default location, "C:\THINKPAD". If files were installed in a different directory, please substitute that information where ever you see "C:\THINKPAD".
NOTE:
Starting with Version 4.12, you can now find out which version of the ThinkPad Configuration program is installed by launching the program, clicking on HELP --> About. For the DOS PS/2 command, type PS2 ?. The version information will be listed at the top.

Windows 95 or Windows 98:
Click on START -> Find -> Files or Folders... and use the following settings:
+ Name: TPW95.EXE
+ Look in: C:
+ Make sure include subfolders is CHECKED.
+ Then click on "Find Now". When it has finished searching the drive, it will list the results at the bottom of the Find window. Look for the column that says "modified". This column contains the DATE stamp of the file.
+ Look in the table below at the column that contains your machine model and find the corresponding DATE entry that matches the value from the Find window.
For example, doing a Find on TPW95.EXE on a 760XD, the modified column has a date of 10-17-97. Looking at the table below, in the 76x column, this corresponds to version 4.02 of the ThinkPad Utility diskette.

Windows NT :

Open a DOS prompt and do the following commands:
+ C:
+ CD \ ( should now be at the root directory of C:\ )
+ DIR TPW.EXE /S
+ When it has finished searching the drive, compare the "date" value with the information listed in the table below.
For example, on a 760XD, doing a DIR TPW.EXE /S, returns TPW.EXE with a date of 08-08-97. Looking at the table, in the 76x column, this corresponds to version 4.00 of the ThinkPad Utility Diskette for Windows 3.1.
