IBM IntelliStation M Pro (Type 6889, 6898) - Unable to extract ZIP files 2.0MB and larger

SYMPTOM:
When attempting to decompress (extract) a .ZIP file 2.0MB or larger using PKUNZIP or other decompression utility, the following, or similar error messages may be displayed:
PKUNZIP: (W15) Warning! File fails CRC check.
PKUNZIP: (W21) Warning! File has bad table.
The exact content and wording of the error message may differ depending on the decompression utility being used.
NOTE: Depending on the decompression utility being used, the compressed (ZIP) file may appear to decompress without any errors. A decompression error may not be discovered until the file(s) are accessed (e.g. Running a Setup utility).
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
This tip applies to the following IBM IntelliStation M Pro Series and Models preconfigured with a Seagate Medalist Pro 6.4GB or 9.1GB IDE hard file and preloaded with, or running Microsoft Windows 95:
IntelliStation M Pro 6898-22x 6.4GB
IntelliStation M Pro 6898-24x 9.1GB
IntelliStation M Pro 6889-10x 6.4GB
IntelliStation M Pro 6889-11x 9.1GB
IntelliStation M Pro 6889-15x 9.1GB
This tip may also apply to systems that have been upgraded with the following Options by IBM (OBI) hard files:
6.4GB 7200rpm EIDE HDD P/N 01K1329 Medalist Pro ST36530A
9.1GB 7200rpm EIDE HDD P/N 01K1330 Medalist Pro ST39140A
FIX:
Download and install the Seagate hard file firmware update, filename UPDATEBB.EXE, from the IBM BBS or Internet Web site.
Click Here to obtain UPDATEBB.EXE:- 
NOTE: UPDATEBB.EXE will create a bootable diskette that will correctly identify and update the Seagate Medalist Pro hard files identified above. Booting and incorrect system type or model will not damage or erase data on an unaffected hard file.
