Abstract:
In order to maintain product reliability, performance and customer satisfaction IBM has released a BIOS update for the machines listed above. Factory updated machines can be identified as follows and do not require the flash update:
Ÿ There is a blue label on the top of the original shipping carton with the letters V.F (see Figure #1)
Ÿ There is an orange circular sticker on the graphics card (see Figure #2)
Please install this flash update on any machines that do not have the factory update.

File Information:
Riva 128 ZX Graphics card Video BIOS Flash filename - RVFLSH.EXE
Available from: http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/DETR-444LC4 or by clicking here -

Installation Instructions:
1. Download the RVFLSH.EXE file to your hard drive (remember where it is saved).
2. Change to the directory where the file was downloaded and execute the file.
3. The program will execute and prompt the user to insert a blank, formatted diskette.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to create the diskette.
5. Once the diskette is created, insert the diskette into the machine and turn on the system. The diskette will boot the system and automatically apply the video BIOS update. When the video BIOS is successfully updated, you will hear one beep. If the
video BIOS update is unsuccessful there you will hear three beeps.
6. After you hear the single beep, remove the diskette and turn the system off. The update is complete.
7. If the video BIOS update was not successful, it may be due to a defective diskette. Please repeat steps 3 through 6 with a new diskette.
8. If problems persist, please call your IBM support number.
