GXT120P and P202 Display

Problem

There is a problem with the GXT120P and the P202 displays. The screen will come up blank with power managment enabled. In order to have something displayed, the monitor must be powered off and back on.

Solution

A workaround for this problem is to disable Power Managment, as detailed in following steps.

• Accomplish the following steps to turn off Display Power Managment.

1. Enter smitty
2. Select Devices
3. Select Graphic Displays
4. Select Display Power Managment
5. Set the value for all of the following to 0

   Time before display dimmed (in minutes)            [0]
   Time before display power suspended (in minutes)   [0]
   Time before display power turned off (in minutes)  [0]
   

• Accomplish the following steps to turn off Power Managment.

1. Enter smitty
2. Select Performance and Resource Scheduling
3. Select Power Managment
4. Select Enable/Disable Power Managment
5. Select Disable
6. Select Configure/Unconfigure Power Managment
7. Select Unconfigure

NOTE: The preceding changes will take effect at the next system reboot.
