Description: Installed Nways Management 1.2.1 in Netview version 5 -
now Netview 6000 will not start.
Actition:
The problem is with the installation of Nways. CC has restored his
system without Nways, and it is working fine. Requeue to AXLAN,L12U
for Nways support.

Customer installed fresh AIX432, NV511, Nways121 system and had problems
with NV daemons not starting up.
Customer, in the meantime, has restored system to pre-Nways mksysb
backup and NV is up and running OK.
I recommended that customer install Nways v123 preferably or upgrade
to v2 level(a "cost" upgrade path).
Customer indicated that it would probably be preferrable to just upgrade
to v123 as no cost or acquisition actions need to be taken.
I indicated to customer the PTF U462220 for the NWays123 CDROM and
check for availability.
Call customer back with instructions on getting Nways v123.

Called defect support for ordering Nways123(PTF) for customer as
preferred base instead of Nways121 which had problems anyway.
Called and left message with customer that CDROM should be expected
tomorrow(overnight).
I left my number for callback for further assistance if customer
desires.

Customer called back to discuss further and verify shipment of CDROM.
I indicated that CDROM for Nways123 was on overnight shipment to him
at the address given. I explained that his 1st problwm after installing
Nways121 was likely RABM taking port 162 from trapd. I recommneded that
that RABM not be installed again as it will be phased out in lieu
of JPM, a part of Nways.
Customer will wait for CDROM and install, then call back with status
or for further assistance.

Customer proceeded to install Nways123 and had no problem(left out the
RABM parts). Only problem customer has now is that the license entry
which uses "i4nat" cannot be done because "i4nat" is not in /var/ifor
directory.
Had customer check installed "ifor" components and particularly
"ifor_ls.compat.cli"...not installed.
Instructed customer to install this component and then check for
the "i4nat" in /var/ifor and then install license for Nways.
Asked customer to call back with status update or for further assist.
