What can be tranformed with PCL to AFP in PSM?

Q:
Topic thread:
Printer Systems (PRINT - NA/ATS)
Printing Systems Manager (PSM)
Client is using PSM (PSF for AIX) transforms for a PCL to AFP
application.
The PCL application has the carriage controls and escape characters for
font changes. This does not transform into anything in AFP that can
call for font changes, am I correct?
What can the PCL to AFP transform?
Q:
Additionally, the real goal of this transform is to get to AFPDS. When
it gets to AFPDS then they can run it through Pitney Bowes Streamweaver
product.
So that's the ultimate goal of this transform.
A:
Sorry for the delay in responding.
The only thing the pcl transform creates is bitmap which means there
is no way for us to call out an AFP font. You will however get the
PCL fonts that you requested if they are present in the rip.
Otherwise you will have to purchase the soft font versions so that we
can load them into a UserInit file for you.
The pcl2afp transform can handle any PCL up to PCL5e.
Thank you.
