My customer wants to transform Postscript jobs to AFP for printing
on a 3900 DW1/DW2. The Postscript jobs use Garamond and Minion
fonts. Is there a way to add fonts to the transform library in
the PS2AFP transform. Also what type of fonts does the transform
program use--does it use ASCII fonts or only binary fonts and I
assume they all have to be in Adobe Type 1 format.
A:
This is documented in the PSF for AIX Print Administration Guide
(S544-3817-02) on pages 255-256. I believe all your questions are
answered there. If you don't have access to the book, I can certainly
fax the pages to you; just let me know. If you still have questions
after reading the section on "Using the Type I (Outline) Fonts" and
"Generating Font-Mapping Files", please reopen.
Thanks for using ViewBlue.
