CANNOT RETRIEVE FILES with uucp

Question:

DH/ STU IS CALLING/ CANNOT RETRIEVE FILES
Using uucp when I issue the take command to copy a file from the remote
system to mine, the file is only displayed on my display and not transfer-
ed. Can you tell me how to correct this problem.

ENV:    AIX 3.2.5

DESC:   You cu to a remote system and do:

        ~%take remotefile localfile

        The file just comes across your screen and does not get
        saved.  Putting a file to the remote side works fine. 
        The problem occurs when calling other RISCs as well as
        other UNIX systems.

ACTION: Changed port from 8 data bits, 1 stop, no parity
        to 7 data bits and even parity.  Problem resolved.

        Also discussed using uuencode and uudecode to transfer
        binaries across the cu connection.
