4.1 machined hangs on a led 549
Env:
  AIX 4.1.3
  RISC 7009-C20
Desc:
Customer got a preinstalled system and just plugged it in and
rebooted it. The system hung on led 549.
Note: This can also happen if the system has crashed and after it
comes up to a c33 and asks to dump to tape, it will crash
        again with a 888.
Action:
An led 549 indicates that one one or more of the following
   conditions occurred:
            - a dump image exists
            - the "forced copy flag" (set and viewable by sysdumpdev)
                is TRUE
            - the dump could not be copied to the copy directory
            - the console could not be configured

I had the customer boot from the cdrom.
Choose the options to a access the rootvg.
   sysdumpdev -l shows:
   Primary -
   Secondary -
   directory /var/adm/ras
   forced copy flag TRUE
To fix this problem of an unknown dump device:
sysdumpdev -Pp /dev/hd6 (or /dev/hd7 if that is the device being used)
This will change the dump device.
   Turn key to normal mode.
   sync;sync;reboot
   The system booted fine.
