HP DesignJet 650C quit after 3.2.5 to 4.1.4 upgrade

ENV:
        AIX 4.1.4 (just upgraded from 3.2.5)
        7013-5xx
        HP DesignJet 650C Color plotter attached to external JetDirect
DESC:
        After the 4.1.4 upgrade plot jobs sent to the 650C plotter
        don't plot - the plotter busy light flickers - then goes back
        to ready.
ACT:
        You can ping, telnet 9100 to the plotter - no problem.
        Tried defining the plotter in various ways - GL, PostScript,
        PCL - all results were the same.

        Next we tried:

        qprt -Php-gl -dp -j! -J! your_gl_file

        This plotted fine.
                Did the same with PostScript and it began working properly
        as well.
