Microsoft's OLE Automation team would like your feedback. OLE Automation, which was
released as part of OLE 2.0 in April 1993, enables application developers to create
programmable applications.

WHAT IS OLE AUTOMATION'S STATUS TODAY?

Part of OLE Automation shipped with OLE 2.0 in release quality. These tools, which include
Ole2Disp.Dll and Ole2NLS.Dll, make it is possible for application developers to create
OLE Automation-enabled applications. Applications developers can create and ship OLE
     Automation controllers and servers today.

Another part of OLE Automation was released with OLE 2.0 as a beta release. These
components include TypeLib.Dll and MkTypLib.Exe. They are referred to in this
questionnaire as "type information components." These components enable application
developers to create objects which are self-describing. There will be later beta releases of
these components, and they will be available in release quality by the end of this year.

OLE Automation will soon be on multiple platforms, and beta releases for these are beginning
already. A beta release of Ole2Disp.Dll is available with the beta drop of NT OLE.

WHY DOES MICROSOFT WANT MY FEEDBACK?

The OLE Automation team would like to get feedback from you on both the release-quality
components and the beta-quality components. This feedback will be used to improve OLE
     Automation in the future.

We have asked questions about dates and plans for the future, and we realize that some
application developers may not be comfortable answering those. Please ignore any
question you do not feel comfortable answering. We would like you to answer as many
questions as possible so that we can improve OLE Automation in the future.

WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION? HOW CAN I PROVIDE FEEDBACK IN THE FUTURE?

Product support is available for the release quality components. The recommended method of
getting product support is through the WINOBJECTS forum on CompuServe. There is a
     section for OLE Automation.

You can also send comments or suggestions to the OLE Automation Program Manager, who can
     be reached at:
