                                  ICON-2-BMP

                        A simple icon converting utility

                          (C) 1997 Endorphin Software

Icon-2-Bmp is a simple program that will convert a Windows icon (*.ico) into a
Windows bitmap (*.bmp). A lot of graphics editing programs will open bitmaps
but not icons (for example, Paintbrush and Paint Shop Pro), and at some point
you may wish to use an icon in one of these packages.

To use Icon-2-Bmp, you simply tell the program the filename to your icon and
the filename to the newly created bitmap. Then, you simply click on Convert
and they will be converted.

Conversion takes no time at all and almost as soon as you click on Convert a
message will appear at the bottom of the Icon-2-Bmp window telling you that it
has been converted.

Icon-2-Bmp should work with any computer capable of running Windows 3.1 or
above (including 95). However, the file VBRUN300.DLL must be present in your
Windows\System directory for the program to run. This file can be downloaded
from most BBSes, or if you have access to the World Wide Web you can download
it from my home page, which is at the bottom of this readme.

Icon-2-Bmp is an extremely simple program and while I have tested it out for
bugs under normal use I cannot guarantee that the program will work properly
if you use it in strange ways! For this reason, Endorphin Software does not
accept responsibility to any damage or harm that may happen to you or your
computer while using this program. Needless to say, nothing ever should happen.

This program is postcardware: if you like the program, please send me a
postcard so I know how far it has spread and how many people like it.
Donations are also appreciated!

Everything in this program was created by me, Dave Forsey, except the Simpsons
icon that was created by Jeanette Foshee and Tim Anstine. If you would like to
contact me about anything (including technical support about this program),
then there are numorous ways of going about it:
