Description of "pe_map"
-----------------------

This tool dumps the structure of a Windows NT executable
(which is in the so-called "portable-executable-format").

It comes in handy if you want to know how good your linker
is, which functions are exported or imported or if you generally
like to peek around.

Interesting is the structure of "executables" made by Centura, which is
actually one big resource to be interpreted.
Also interesting is the output of the Borland 4.52 linker, which has a
bad import directory.

The PE-format is explained in "Peering Inside the PE: A Tour of the
Win32 Portable Executable File Format" by Matt Pietrek, Microsoft Systems
Journal of March 1994.
I simply dump one part of the executable after the other following this
article; therefore no docu.

Hope it helps you understand linker-switches.

It's all freeware, enjoy.

	Bernd
