* cdp -- the Windows NT console CD player control utility. *
************************************************************

cdp is a simple Windows NT utility that allows the user to start, stop, and cue
a CD-ROM drive to play audio compact disc tracks. Description of the commands
are obtained by typing "cdp h" or "cdp ?" at the NT Console.

The crux of cdp is to allow the user to control the play of audio CDs without
the actual use of a media player. The advantage is that once cdp ends
execution, the computer is completely unaware of the state of the drive--of
great consequence to a 486DX2/66 (of unknown consequence to other machines).
If you don't notice (or have no reason to notice) why one would like to avoid
the use of a media player, then you probably have no use for this utility.

The author is planning to release an applet that duplicates the standard
functions seen on most conventional CD players, but with the same advantages as
cdp. It is hoped that this will be targeted for Win32s GUI, and will also
allow migration of the Windows NT Accessory CD Player database.
