             Section 3.1 WaVeOuT Setup
             Section 4. General Information

NOTE: This version of WaVeOuT will work with mIRC 3.92 and mIRC 4.0
it will not work with any version before 3.92.

OTHERNOTE: If you do not know about wav play within mIRC 3.92/4.0
READ THE FILE SOUND.TXT, also included in the zip file.

------------------Section 1 - Introduction--------------------------------

Hi and welcome to WaVeOuT. This program is designed to be used with mIRC
version 3.92 and up on IBM compatible computers. mIRC is an IRC (Internet
Relay Chat) client written by Khaled Mardam-Bey. Both programs require
Windows 3.X or Windows 95

WaVeOuT is a program which allows point-and-click wav play with mIRC. Its
ease of use does away with remembering wav file names and complicated mIRC
commands. Just use the mouse, point at a wav file and WaVeOuT sends the
commands to mIRC via the DDE connect option (see Section 3 for more info)

------------------Section 2 - Installation--------------------------------

If you are reading this, it is assumed you have already opened the zip file.
The copy of WaVeOuT should be in a directory of it's own. Inside the
directory where the zip was opened is a file called BWCC.DLL, this file
should be left in the same directory as WaVeOuT or can be placed in the
Windows sub-directory as WaVeOuT will look there for it by default.
See Known Bugs at the bottom of this file for more information on BWCC.DLL

------------------Section 3 - mIRC Setup----------------------------------

Before you run WaVeOuT, run mIRC first. In the status window, type the
command /DDESERVER ON for more information on this command, see the
mIRC help documentation file.

The Following isn't necessary to run WaVeOuT, but will make it
easier to use.

Place the following command in the ALIASES section:
go to TOOLS, ALIASES

     /D /DDESERVER ON MIRC | /RUN C:\DIRECTORYNAME\WAVE22.EXE

Now all you have to do in mIRC is type /D and the DDESERVER will be turned
on and WaVeOuT 2.2 will automatically be run for you.

NOTE: If you run a "bot" make sure the above command is NOT in the copy of
mIRC running the bot and make sure the DDE server is off. Type
/DDESERVER OFF This will turn off the server.

OTHERNOTE: If you do not know about wav play within mIRC 3.92/4.0
READ THE FILE SOUND.TXT, also included in the zip file.

------------------Section 3.1 - WaVeOuT Setup------------------------------

Run WaVeOuT. Choose setup. Under directory, enter the default directory
location for your wav files. Remember to put a backslash at the end of the
directory name such as: C:\WAVS\

Under Random Play, choose a time interval for timed random play. Placing a
value of 30, would play a wav file randomly every 30 seconds. The timer
cannot be set below 5 seconds, this is to prevent flooding.

Choose a default comment to be displayed with wavs as they are played like:
brings you another wav or grabs one from the magic box
or anything comment you like. When finished, choose OK.

Now, in the main screen, you should see a directory listing of all your wavs.
Below that is the currently selected wav file, below that is your wav
directory, with all current wavs listed. To the right, at the top is a box
listing possible comments, and below that is the options menu.

IMPORTANT OPTION: You should see a button called: mIRC 4.0 Comp.
If you use mIRC 4.0, press this button. Do NOT
select this if you use mIRC 3.92, or WaVeOuT
will not work in dcc chat/query windows!

About The Options:

DDE Connect: This must be selected for WaVeOuT to "talk" to mIRC.

Always on top: Selecting this forces WaVeOuT to stay on top of
               all open windows.

Rapid Fire: This is a powerful feature. When selected, to play a
wav simply left click on the wav name once, and it is
               played.

Random Play: Selecting this will play a random wav at the specified
time interval specified in setup. Also, when WaVeOuT is
random playing, you can pause the random play by putting
a check in the small box in the left hand corner of the
               WaVeOuT window.

Include Size: Includes the file size at the end of the selected
               comment.

Refresh Directory: Press this if wavs have been added to the
directory since WaVeOuT has been running

Associate: A powerful command. Associates whatever comment is put
in the comment window and will always display that
comment every time the wav is played. A different
comment can be associated with every wav.

Window: This reduces the "foot print" of WaVeOuT. It only
displays the current wav directory. This window can be
resized to any size to fit your needs. NOTE: when the
window is small, right clicking on the gray border will
                    refresh the directory listing.

            About: Information about WaVeOuT

     Quit WaVeOuT: Exits WaVeOuT

Delete: Highlight a filename and press this button twice and it
will ask you if you want to delete that wav.

At the bottom left hand size of the screen is a number. This is the total
number of wavs in the current directory. To the left of that is the status
window, telling you the status of selected options.

A new feature added to WaVeOuT is when WaVeOuT is "windowed" and it is selected
as the "main" window (the title bar is highlighted), pressing a key on the
keyboard causes WaVeOuT to either go to or play the first file in the directory
beginning with that letter. Please remember to use your mouse to select mIRC
as the primary window before typing, or you could end up flooding a channel
with a lot of wavs!

Known Bugs / Conflicts: (what did ya expect?)

Running another program such as GoldWave, that uses a BWCC.DLL file of
a different version than the one running WaVeOuT can cause to Windows to
crash. To fix this, simply copy the BWCC.DLL file from the WaVeOuT directory
and overwrite the one in the application causing the conflict, or vica-versa.
