messages, so it's easy to send and receive attached files. SoMail also support
multiple POP3 servers, message folders, dial up to Internet Service Provider, and
many other features available on QWK readears, as taglines, signatures, etc.

     You can run SoMail on Local Network, it save the configuration and
information for every user. SoMail works in English, Portuguese and French with
only one instalation, just select the desired language.

     - Automatic message filtering SMTP messages, you can select, delete,
	reply or forward messages automaticaly.
     - Easy to receive especial applications file (with MIME). No need of
  	"application configuration"
     - File attachment using UU/XXencode or MIME methods.
     - Support for message encryptation.
     - Spell check for English.
     - Filter to hide unwanted lines on header of Internet messages into
       QWK packets (for some doors only).
     - Messages with ANSI commands (on QWK) are supported without animation.
     - Incorporates internal ZIP/UNZIP for QWK packets.
     - Support for any external editor to compose messages.
     - Multiple QWK packets can be open at sametime.
     - Easy to move messages from QWK to Internet and vice-versa.

     About SoMail:
     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     SoMail is not freeware. You may test it for one month.  If you decide to
continue using it after the evaluation period, you must register your copy.
IMPORTANT: SoMail will stop working 30 days after your trial period.
     You can obtain a usage license for SoMail by paying only US$ 35.00 (thirty
five US. dollars), or the equivalent in Brazilian currency.  See details on
SENDME.TXT file.   The licence is for a single copy instalation, no matter
how many users have it on the workstation or even on the network.
     The shareware version is completely operational. The only restrictions are
that you only have taglines advertising SoMail and an occasional screen reminding
you to register your copy.    The SMTP server (SMAILSRV.EXE) is a restricted
version, ie, it can be used for up to 4 users on the same machine.  It's enough
for any user at a workstation, but if you want a full version for use at your
local network (without limitations), you can get it for $200,00, contact us for
more informations.
     You only pay for the license once.  Besides getting rid of our registration
reminder, you can then change taglines.   Licensed users will receive ALL future
version at no additional charge, as well as have technical support whenever
needed.
     Our best incentive for continuing to develop this program is your
registration.  Knowing that people like and use a program is always good, but
it is even better if you receive some financial compensation for your work.
Regardless of being registered or not, all comments and suggestions are welcomed.
     Sellers and distributors of public domain software CANNOT CHARGE for the
use of SoMail, though they may include SoMail on a diskette or any other media
and, subsequently, charge a fee for the use or distribution of the media used.
Whoever buys that diskette should be informed that the price is for the diskette
and not for registering SoMail.
     BBS system operators (SYSOPS) may make SoMail available for their users as
long as they meet the conditions described in the preceding paragraph, or rather,
the BBS may charge an access fee, but cannot charge specifically for downloading
SoMail.  SYSOPS making SoMail available for "free downloading" can receive a
free registration.   Please contact us for further details.
HOW TO INSTALL:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    The instalation is easy. No need of any auxiliary program for it.
Proceed as follows to install SoMail:

          - Unpack the file in any directory, for example, C:\SOMAIL.
          - Create a shortcut or run the program C:\SOMAIL\SOMAIL.EXE.
          - Follow the instructions on the screen for basic configuration.
          - The first time you run SoMail, it will make some working
             directories under the directory in which you have designed as
             "home"
	     Ex: c:\users\you\mail and c:\users\you\wmail. Leave this
              directories empty; never use it for any reason. SoMail
              somatimes may delete its contents.

     You MUST complete the configuration menus before opening any .QWK packet
or send/receive any SMPT/POP3 message in order to:

          - Select default directories for uploads, downloads,
              saving files and messages, etc.
          - Set the SMTP/POP3 servers, etc.
          - Select reply options, such as editor, margins, "quote"
              character, code page, etc.
          -  Choose other assorted options.

    If you use an external compressor (Zip, ARJ, etc.), take note of the
following:

          - Confirm that your compression/extraction programs are
               correctly selected.
          - Confirm that these programs can run ok with the command line
	        configured.

     After installation, open any .QWK packet using the File menu and test to
see if any problems occur while reading your packet.

     Remember that SoMail does not need the index files (.NDX) on QWK packets.
You may therefore configure your BBS door to not send them, saving transmission
time.

     We emphatically recommend that you use the internal ZIP/UNZIP. SoMail
supports files packed with PKZIP version 2.0. There is, therefore, no reason
to use an external packer, since the ZIP format is supported by virtually all
BBSs.
