Little Blue Frog Software's
Lily Pad 1.0 Beta 2
README.txt

To use: Place lilypad.exe anywhere you want. Place all other files in the c:\windows\system directory. If you get error messages after placing these files in the right directory, run the included reg-ocx.exe file and it will register the .ocx files with Windows 95. You may need to restart your computer. If, after doing all of this, the program still does not run, e-mail bluefrog@usa.net and I'll try to help you.

NOTICE: Lily Pad requires the VB 5.0 runtime files, comdlg32.ocx, and comctl32.ocx. If you do not have these files please see my web site for more information as to how to download them. The address is: http://user.icx.net/~reuscher/lilypad.htm

Thanks for trying Lily Pad 1.0 Beta 2.
This version is a functional "preview" of the final version.
Lily Pad 1.0 Beta 2 is DONATIONWARE!
The suggested donation is $1.
If enough (100 or so) people donate before the final version is released (tentative release date is August 15) then it will continue to be DONATIONWARE. If fewer than 100 donate, it will be $5 SHAREWARE. As of the release of Beta 2, no one has donated. Come on people! Isn't it worth a lousy dollar? I know there are other programs similar to this one out there, but I do think that it has some value. Your $1 could be the difference in my continuing to make this program donationware instead of shareware. I have begun considering the possibility of Lily Pad Plus, a shareware higher end .rtf editor with Lily Pad as donationware. Let me know what you think. Please don't make a little blue frog cry :(
Please send all donations to:
                                        Tim Reuscher
                                        904 Danville Circle
                                        Knoxville, TN 37923
If you send a check, please make it out to Tim Reuscher. Also, please include your e-mail address for future correspondence.

Those who send donations are entitled to free e-mail support.
If you have sent a donation, please direct your questions to bluefrog@usa.net Subject:Support or just use the e-mail icon on the toolbar or the menubar.
****************************************************
Comments and bug reports are welcome from everybody.
E-Mail bluefrog@usa.net
Subject:Comments for comments
Subject:Bugs for bug reports
If you submit bug reports please include relevant information, such as video card, processor, etc. I suspect that some problems stem from Matrox video cards due to the fact that this program is written in MS VB5. MS' newest programs seem to dislike the Matrox brand video card for some reason.

Please use the correct subjects for your e-mails or I will not respond. All messages will be put through an e-mail filter to better allow me to respond.

Current features include:
>Standard text pad features such as cut, copy, paste, save, open, etc.
>The ability to change fonts and background color
>An Office 97 style "coolbar"
>Text search
>Recently used files menu
>No file size limit

Features/fixes new to Beta 2:
>Undo and redo features added (redo is really just the same as undo, the toolbar just looks better with both of them there).
>Added links to the Little Blue Frog Homepage and to the e-mail support address for those who have donated
>Find is now ctrl+F, like in other Windows applications
>Open/Save As Dialog directory and default extension 'bugs' fixed
>Toolbar changes (added some new buttons, added dividing lines)
>Richtx32.ocx and softbttn.ocx added to zip file (sorry to those of you who had problems because of my failure to include these files in the original zip file)

Future features (beta 3?) include:
>Ability to reset to default values
>Ability to save settings

Features currently under consideration include:
>Native IntelliMouse support (wheel scrolls when using Plannet Crafters' FlyWheel available at http://www.plannetarium.com - no IntelliMouse user should be without it)
>Search and replace
>Improved printing (options for font, size, margin, etc.)
>Non Office 97-style toolbar option for those having problems or those who just don't like them
***Let me know if these features would be valuable to you***

Current known bugs:
>Occasionally, the coolbar buttons Open, Change Font, and Change Background Color will stick. This can be fixed by running your mouse pointer over the icon again. This bug will probably not receive high priority.
>After choosing no to the "Do you want to save the changes" dialog, and then canceling the Open File dialog, all data is lost when choosing New file without adding any more data . Let me know if this is a real problem for anyone. It seems like it wouldn't be. Just be careful :)
>When opening some files of file types not included (those included are .txt, .htm, etc.), the display window will just stay the same and not open anything. I'm investigating why this happens and hope to fix it. No guarantees.
