WELCOME

Welcome and thank you for using HTML Create! version 0.5 Beta.  The release is Beta Freeware so it is free for you to use and distribute under these conditions;
1) That you distribute HTML Create! only in the form in which you received it, in zip compressed format with all the original files included, including all setup and executable files, dynamic Link Libraries (.DLL), help files (.HLP), and documentation (*.TXT) as outlined below. The reason for this is to make sure that everyone who gets a copy of this program, gets a full working version.
2) That you do not knowingly manipulate any of the documentation contained within either the standard or full package.

ABOUT THIS BETA RELEASE

One thing to keep in mind about this version is that it is beta software which means essentially that it is a work in progress and is by no means complete or perfect. The initial release, this one, will have very limited distribution because it is beta software. As a beta tester there is one thing that I ask of you, please report any bugs, suggestions, comments, gripes, or problems to me so that I am aware of them and I can fix them. You can do this in one of two ways, first is throughout the HTML Create! homepage at http://www.ualberta.ca/~erickson/create or e-mail erickson@gpu.srv.ualberta.ca.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Note: the instructions outlined below apply to Windows '95 users

Now that I have HTML Create! installed how do I run it?
If you are using Windows '95, the HTML Create! Setup program will install a shortcut on your start menu. So to run HTML Create! simply click the start button, select programs and then HTML Create!. This will automatically run HTML Create!

How come I can only see some of many files you say are included with the various packages in my HTML Create! directory?
Windows keeps all .DLL (Dynamic Link Libraries) and .OCX (OLE Controls) in the windows/system directory. Look for them there.

I am tired of your useless program. how do I get it off my hard drive?
Click the start button on the task bar, and select Settings|Contol Panel. A window should open with various icons inside it. Click the one labeled Add/Remove Programs. A new windows should open, select the Install/Uninstall tab. From the list box on the lower half of the window select HTML Create! and click the Remove button. The setup program will take you the rest of the way.

I am having trouble, can I contact you?
Of course, I can be reached through e-mail at erickson@gpu.srv.ualberta.ca. If you want to report a bug or some other problem with HTML Create! it is preferred that you do so through the HTML Create! homepage at http://www.ualberta.ca/~erickson/create/, however if you prefer e-mail that's fine too.

IMPORTANT NOTES

1) HTML Create! Version 0.5 Beta is designed for use with Microsoft Windows '95 and has limited testing on Microsoft Windows NT Workstation (version 3.5 or higher). To the best of my knowledge HTML Create! should function properly in every way on Windows NT, however because of the limited testing I do not recommend the use of HTML Create! version 0.5 beta on Windows NT.
