Chalk Board Server Installation

NOTE: This software requires that a HTTP daemon be installed on the system,
or that there is drive access to a HTTP site that is used for the notice board

To install the server, run the install.exe file. Once that is complete, the
server has to be configured. Start the server, the icon is in the Startup group,
and select Users|Setup from the menu bar. The index file is the name of the file
that your http server automatically sends upon entering a directory. This is ofter
index.htm, welcome.htm and so on. The blank file is the name of the file that the
server will swap with the index file when the Clear Files command is given. It is
the basic format that the server will work for. Initially the two files should
be the same. The directory is the path to the HTTP site directory that forms the
notice board position. This is the DOS path, not the URL to the site. The blank
file and the index file must be located in that directory.

To use the server, the various users' info must be installed. This is done via the
Users/Add User menu item. On the Add User screen, there is space for a user ID, the
user's name, e-mail address and extension number. Once this info is added, hit the
Save User button and the info will be saved. The Users/Edit User menu item brings
up the Edit User screen. Type the user's ID into the first box, hit the Load button
and the user's info is retrieved. This can be modified and saved at will.
The Users/Kill User item brings up the dialogue for deleting a user from the server.
Simply type the user ID and hit the delete button.

On the Controls menu, the same options as the Server Face buttons are available.
Swap Logs changes the log files around. Clear Files cleans the notice board index
page afresh, Restart/Reset Server resets all IP ports and refreshes the program.
Exit exits the server, duh!!
