WELLCOME to the Harmonic Metronome for Windows.

The Harmonic Metronome is the FIRST metronome to 
provide measurement of pitch as well as rhythm, for music 
practice and education. It's easy-to-use interface permits an 
infinite combination of scales, arpeggios, and other common 
musical exercises. The Harmonic Metronome is 
patented technology (patent #5,515,764).

This version of the Harmonic Metronome for Windows95, 
is a DEMO version. It is fully operational, but does not include
the full range of scale and arpeggio options. Only major and minor
scales are included. This program is provided solely for evaluation.

Before using the program on your computer, be sure that you have read 
and agreed to the License Agreement (license.doc; license.txt).
This document comes with The Harmonic Metronome disks; if you 
have downloaded the program, it will appear in the Harmonic Metronome
directory on your hard disk, after you install the program.

	8mb RAM (will run with 4mb on some systems)

To install the Harmonic Metronome in your computer from the 
WholeARTS floppy version, place Floppy Disk #1 in your disk drive. 
First, close any programs currently loaded and running on your computer.
Then, run SETUP.EXE. To run the program after setup, run HM.EXE.

To install the Demo from the Internet, download the self-extracting 
zip file from the following World Wide Web site:

	http://www.wholarts.com/music/hm

Close any programs currently loaded and running on your computer. Then,
double-click on the zip (HM.EXE) file on your hard disk. The files will 
automatically extract, and the program will automatically load on
your system. Simply follow the on-screen prompts during 
installation.

If you download from another site, the zip file is not self-extracting. 
Unzip the file on your computer, close any other programs currently loaded 
and running on your computer, and then click on SETUP.EXE.

(To test your sound card configuration, bring up Windows Mplayer. 
Click File/Open and choose any MIDI file on your hard disk, 
such as the Windows sample, "canyon.mid," Then, click play: 
if you hear music your sound card is working. It is unlikely 
that you will have to configure it specifically for 
The Harmonic Metronome. Changes in configuration, however, 
may improve the quality of the sound in some cases.
