Echo On is a small, powerful file utility which gives you all 
of the tools that you need to organize the files on your system.  
It provides quick, intuitive access to all of the standard 
copy and move functions, as well as added features including 
file searching, file attributing, disk formatting, copying 
to multiple targets, and directory comparison.  Echo On also 
now offers zipping and unzipping capabilities using the Pkzip 
program.  A Ziff Davis Interactive review calls this program 
"an excellent file-management utility. ... Echo On is not only 
powerful it makes file handling much easier via its visual 
interface and well designed features."  

You will need to have the VBRUN300.DLL file installed in your 
Windows\System directory in order for Echo On to run and before you
can run the Echo On setup program.  You will also need to
have the the PkZip program installed on your system in order
to use the zipping and unzipping portion of Ech On.  The PkZip
self-extracting file is PKZ204G.EXE.  From this EXE, Echo On 
uses Pkzip.exe, Pkunzip.exe, Pkzipfix.exe, and Zip2exe.exe. 

Please ensure these files are in your path.  These files are not 
furnished as part of the Echo On Program.  They can be obtained
from most online services or BBSs or from the KnowWare web page at
http://www.pioneer.net/~knoware/.

After extracting the echo-v40.zip file, you should see the following

To load Echo On onto your system, go to the File menu 
of your Windows Program Manager and choose Run.  Choose 
the Echo On setup.exe file from the directory or disk 
and click on OK.  The setup program will load all the 
necessary files onto your system and create a Windows 
program group for Echo On. This is a 16-bit version of 
Echo On which will also run on Windows 95.  To load Echo On 
in Windows 95, choose Run from Start and run setup.exe.

After installation of Echo On is complete please the Echo On 
Readme by double clicking its icon. There is also a "Getting 
Started" menu item located in the program's Help menu.

Echo On may be distributed freely, as long as no fee is charged 
for the distribution and all of the files listed above are included
with the program, but it may in no way be bundled with or included 
into another program without obtaining prior written permission 
from the author.
