Copyright 1995 Jason Tolbert, TCS Software

Release Note: The main purpose of this release was to allow the user
to install TimeWave no matter where windows was installed. Previously,
Timewave assumed windows was installed on the C drive. Also, bugs were
fixed in the method of saving settings. A new interface is coming
soon!

Thank you for trying TimeWave! A long time ago I started to
download .wav files from the internet and attach them to windows
events using one of the many programs that allow you to do that.
However, I wanted to play my sounds at random time intervals. I
wanted to be surprised by the "responses"of my computer while I was working.
I have found that motivational quotes spoken randomly using TimeWave keeps
me going through those frustrating debugging sessions. By using my TimeWave
program, I now am able to give my computer a bit more spontaneity. TimeWave
livens up your boring windows sessions by playing sounds from specified directory
at random time intervals or a time interval that you set. It is not a very
complicated program ( I call it SimpleWare), but I believe windows users will
enjoy this program. Give it a try for 30 days and then decide if want to pay
the modest registration fee of $5.00. If you want to keep it but use it only
sparingly, you may pay the discount registration fee of $3.00. Oh yea, this
program is fully functional. No banner screens or crippleware tactics. However,
registering entitles you to free upgrades of the product. Of course, this
unregistered product may be distributed freely as long as all accompanying files are
distributed along with the files.

INSTALLING TIMEWAVE

Installation is easy. Once you download and unzip all of the files into
an arbitrary directory, execute the program called setup.exe.

IMPORTANT: The program will not work if not installed in c:\twave. The setup.exe
program will default to this for you.

TIMEWAVE INITIALIZATION

Start TimeWave by either double-clicking the TimeWave icon or by choosing
File;Run;c:\twave\twave.exe in windows Program Manager.

USING TIMEWAVE

Selecting a Directory

The first thing you should do when using is TimeWave is to select the
directory where your .wav files are located. TimeWave will randomly
select files to play from this directory. You may specify a directoy by
using the mouse or by typing the full directory path in the box called Specify Directory
For Sounds. Use the Test button to see what a particular sound file sounds like.

Specifying a Time Interval

Specify a time interval in seconds by typing a number in the Time Between Sounds
box. You can then either press Confirm Time or put the cursor on the next item
on the screen you want to change. You should immediately see the Countdown window
change to the appropriate value. Hint: If you are not allowed to type anything
in the Time Between Sounds box, it is because the Randomize Time feature is active
(see Randomizing the Time Between Sounds).

Randomizing the Time Between Sounds

You can let TimeWave select the Time Between Sounds played for you. Just
give TimeWave a maximum and a minimum value from which to choose from (the
value is in seconds). Make sure that the Randomize Time box is checked.

Enabling/Disabling TimeWave

Quite intuitively, you can enable or disable TimeWave by checking the box
marked Enable Sounds.

Save Settings

You can save your settings by clicking on Save Settings.
