BG06B--06 January 1996

This is a minor upgrade. I rewrote a couple of the resources and fixed the menu so that all of the items are where they're supposed to be as in the original BG06, by George Sutty.

There is still an unresolved bug. Now modified to run under Windows 95, BG06B does not run under Windows 3.x. It causes a GPF in module GDI.EXE. I will continue to pursue the solution, but since the whole point of this is Windows 95, I don't consider this catastrophic.

Enjoy!

BG06A--30 December 1995

This is the famous BG06 backgammon program that didn't run under Windows 95.....until now!!!

I opened the original program in a hex editor and changed the expected Windows version number. That allowed it to load in Windows 95. But it still wasn't right. The Windows 2.0 resources didn't translate properly. There was no cursor or menu, but the game worked. So, I opened the program in AppStudio (in Microsoft Visual C++ v1.0) and massaged and rewrote the resources until they worked.

So, here you have it. The original BG06 program which runs under Windows 95!

I hereby give credit to George Sutty, of Graphics Software Labs, for writing the original program. The original readme appears below.

Thanks, and have fun!
