Take Note 1.0 is a text editor in tabbed format. The program is a simple editor that
is designed for saving notes, reminders, or whatever you want. With ten tabs, you can
effortlessly switch between your note groups. Each tab can be assigned a description
that will display on the bottom of the window. Also, you can choose to display a list
of your groups that will provide descriptions for all tabs. Either right-button click on
the editor to display a popup menu or display a toolbox for program functions. Your available
resources will show in the program's caption bar. Take Note 1.0 is a very handy tool. If
you find that it is useful to you, the registration fee is only $9.00.

Setup: Unzip the compressed files into the same directory and run the setup program.
Note: This program was written using Visual Basic 4.0. Consquently, the file vb40016.dll is
necessary before you can run the program. If you received this program on CDROM or disk, the
file vb40016.exe should be somewhere on the distribution media. Vb40016.exe is a self-extracting
compressed file. Simply type "vb40016" at the dos prompt or double-click on it in file
manager. The file goes into the Windows System directory. If you downloaded this program from
an FTP site, check that site for the vb40016.dll file or ftp to ftp.cica.indiana.edu or
ftp.microsoft.com. You will need this file before running setup.

Also, Visual Basic 4.0 includes a lot of different files that take up considerably
more space than VB 3.0. That is why vb40016.dll was not included. This is how
Microsoft explains it:

"Visual Basic 4.0 uses the OLE Control architecture on a scale unmatched by any other
in the industry. This means that until the OLE Control architecture becomes the
industry standard and part of the Windows operating system, Visual Basic programs
have to include the support files which enable this powerful new technology.
It is expected that as the OLE model becomes integrated at the operating system
level, this requirement will fall away and the size of the distributable will
drop dramatically."

As far as vb40016.dll goes, it is used by all VB 4.0 programs,
so you will only need to get it once. If you can't find the file, email me
at jhawk@valleynet.com.

The program is provided as shareware. Take 21 days to evaluate the
program, and if you find it useful, the registration fee is $9 and
should be sent to:
