Silver Wolf Desktop (SWD) May 29, 1995
Version 1.1c (preliminary)

INTRODUCTION
------------

The Silver Wolf Desktop (SWD) for Windows <ASP> brings the true,
proven, folder/document interface to Windows 3.1, today. Give your
Windows a Macintosh-like boost!

Full support for: Long (file) Names, Aliases, Drag/Drop, Trash,
Icon & Text file/directory views, File Find, History Lists,
Program Manager groups as read-only lists, File Manager drops,
PKZIP v2.04g files open as read-only windows, Network support and
more.

Disk directories become "folders" with files and other folders
(subdirectories) inside. These folders are displayed in windows on
the desktop and can be opened, moved, copied, aliased, and deleted.
Every item -- file, directory, or list -- on the Desktop can be
displayed with it's icon to give you a quick visual cue what
application is needed to view and change the item as appropriate.

Drag files to the desktop's wallpaper (Windows' background) to run
the application or launch the file's associated application. Drop
files onto the trashcan to allow "delayed" delete (you need to empty
the trashcan to really remove the files from your disk).

Drop files onto the Print, View, and Edit icons to launch related
applications. These "Command Icons" look for commands of the same
name in Windows' registration database (where file associations, etc
are stored) for each file. So, for example, if you drag a .SAM file
onto the Print icon AmiPro's "print" command will be launched to
print the file in it's native format without needing to bring up
AmiPro! If no "command" exists, a default print application will
attempt to make sense of your file. Plus, you can add your own
Command Icons!

The Silver Wolf Desktop brings the "desktop" idea inherent in
future GUI environments to your computer, today.

GETTING STARTED
---------------

Complete installation notes can be found in the online help file,
SWD.HLP. In general, though, unzip or copy the files in this release
into a directory (eg: C:\SWD) and you are ready to go.

Note: SWD.EXE must be brought down to upgrade to this release.

Once the SWDesktop is installed, you can run it from Program
Manager's File | Run menu. The online help has more details about
running and configuring SWDesktop to work for you.

LICENSE & REGISTRATION
----------------------

The Silver Wolf Desktop (SWD) is not free and if not being placed
into the Public Domain. This fully functional evaluation package is
being provided to give you the opportunity to see if and how the
Silver Wolf Desktop can work for you.

The complete license is found in the VENDINFO.DIZ file. Essentially
you can use SWD for 21 days to evaluate how it works for you. After
that point you need to pay to continue using the software legally.
