       VINNY CALENDAR REMINDER Version 2.00

INTRODUCTION
Vinny Calendar Reminder is a Windows 95/98 utility which
keeps track of appointments. It displays three calendar
months or six days at a time. All entries are automatically
stored upon program exit and retrieved upon program start up.
Notes are entered in free form into mini note pads. They are
stored by date in a single text file. A text search capability
can locate any entry. In short, this is a simple reminder
system for personal activities.

INPUT
Data input is by:
1-Key board entry into a series of internal mini note pads.
2-Cut, copy and paste from other applications. A pop up
menu is available as an alternate to the standard cut
          and paste keystrokes.
3-Automatic loading of previous entries on program start.
4-Merging program data transfer files from other computers.

OUTPUT
Output is by:
1-Cut, copy and paste to other applications.
2-Automatic saving and packing of all entries in
chronological order on program shut down.
3-An automatically generated printable text file
(PrintCal.txt) listing all entries in chronological
          order.
4-Automatic creation of comma delimited ASCII transfer
          file [.asc].

HELP
Use the [F1] key to open the help file at any time. This readme
file also contains additional program information. See the INPUT
and OUTPUT listing above and FEATURES listing below.

FEATURES
1-Months are color coded. The current month is always white.
In the six day view the current day (today) is always white.

2-The month and day displays are both scalable and
resizable. Use the [Daily] and [Monthly] menu item to
        switch between the two windows.

3-On start up the current month is centered vertically
with the previous months above it and the succeeding
month below it. After switching to the daily view the
current day (today) is in the first position upper left.

4-Scroll controls allow for rolling the months
or days forward or back. The [Page Up and Page Down]
and the [Shift Page Up and Shift Page Down] keys can also
cycle the months and days forward and back.

5-Dates can be selected from any of the three months
displayed. Once a date is selected its note pad
can be read, written or edited. The date selected in
the center month becomes the first day in daily window.

6-The [Today] buttons are used to set any of the note
display locations to the current day.

7-A non-case sensitive text search is provided. It locates
all mini note pads that contain a given input string.
Once a search string is typed into the search dialog,
the [Enter] key or the Search button can be used to
preform the search. The total number of items found is
displayed. The search dialog next and prior buttons can
be used to move back and forth between the items
(note pads) found . The function key [F3] can be used in
place of the "Next button" and function key [F4] can be
used in place of the "Prior button". The popup menu
can be used to search for selected or highlighted text.

8-An automatically generated printable text file
[PrintCal.txt] lists all entries in chronological order.
This file can be read with windows notepad or any word
processor and then printed in whole or in part as desired.

9-The program allows transferring or merging of entries
from one computer to another or to other applications.
A single [File] button provides file save, export and
import capability. See the help file topic "Transferring
Entries" for an explanation of the procedures involved.

10-A repeat weekly popup menu item repeats the selected or
highlighted text once a week for the number of weeks
        designated by the user.

FILES IN THE ZIP PACKAGE
This zip package contains the complete 32 bit Vinny Calendar
Reminder utility for Windows 95/98. It runs on Windows 95/98.
It may also run on Windows NT but it has not been tested with
it. The only file required to run the application is
[Calendar.exe]. The file [Calendar.dat] stores all entries and
the file [Calendar.hlp] is the program help file. If the file
[Calendar.dat] is deleted a new [Calendar.dat] file will be
generated automatically when the program shuts down. Keep these
three files in the same directory. If you desire, the
[Install.exe] file can be used to automate the file loading
process. It will create a Start Menu link to Vinny Calendar
Reminder program. It also creates a link to this readme file
and the file [PrintCal.txt]. As noted above [PrintCal.txt] is
an automatically generated printable text file.
