Fallacy Tutorial is the reincarnation of Michael C. LaBossiere's Fallacy Tutorial Pro originally written for the Macintosh in SuperCard. Unfortuntely, the SuperCard version it was created in wouldn't work with MacOS 8.5 and higher without an update to SuperCard so we took that opportunity to recreate it in REALbasic. There will likely be new versions with more features, fallacies and quizzes in the near future.

----- Mac Users: -----

This version should work on Macs running System 7.1 - MacOS 9.0 and beyond. It requires at least a 68020 processor, 2MB of RAM and a 640x480 or higher resolution monitor. It will work on a Mac II (circa 1987). If you have a Mac earlier than this you should really consider a new iMac, they are quite tempting. A 68K and PowerPC version were created separately to keep the size down.

----- Windows Users: -----

The Windows version is nearly identical in features to the Mac version but I must confess that as of release time it has not run on an actual Windows PC. No one in my immediate family has ever owned an actual Windows PC and I've already converted my extended family and most of my friends to Macintosh. It was compiled on a PowerComputing PowerBase G3 and tested with Connectix Virtual PC running Windows 95 and Windows 98.

----- Using Fallacy Tutorial: -----

Hopefully it should be pretty straightforward. Study the Fallacies and take the quizzes until you score the full 20 of 20.

There are 3 quizzes of 10 scenarios for a total of 30 scenarios. For each quiz the order of the scenarios and the location of the multiple choices will change each time that that quiz is taken.

You may use the corresponding keys on your keyboard to select the multiple choices and press return to progress to the next scenario.

A correct answer earns 2 points. Hints are always available but will cost you half your potential score for that scenario if taken before answering the scenario question. So, you will only receive 1 point for a correct answer after a hint is taken.
