                               OVERVIEW
=======================================================================

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
INTRODUCTION
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personal Info Keeper is a program that enables you to store private
information used on various HTML forms and in Windows applications.
It stores your information in a repository and allows you to
instantly "drop" the data into commonly used forms and windows.

For example, you can use Personal Info Keeper to keep:
  - account information, such as user names and passwords, to enable
you to quickly logon to any Windows application or Web Site
  - credit card and postal address information, to enable you to
quickly drop this information to any form you need to fill in
  - bookmarks to any local files and internet URLs you need to open
    often
  - any other text information.

Information is stored in a tree-like structure that includes folders
and items. Each folder may contain any number of other folders and
items. The transfer of information occurs using drag-and-drop
technology with either OLE or the Windows Clipboard.

You can store data in an encrypted format and limit access to it, if
you wish. The DES algorithm is used to encrypt the data and a password
is used to generate an encryption key.

Additionally, you can create "link" items that allow you to run/open
any file or URL in a manner similar to that of Windows Explorer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT'S NEW WITH VERSION 1.1?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 1.1 adds many new features, including the following:
- A new type of item called a "Link". You can use this type of item to
run/open any file or URL in a similar manner to that of Windows
  Explorer.
- Enhanced behavior when changing the order of items on the data tree.
- A Copy (Ctrl+C) feature appears in the pop-menu for items.
- Different icons are used for each type of item on the tree.
- You can backup your data file without quitting the program.
- A new dialog lets you move the data file that stores your personal
information to another place on your hard drive.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
To use Personal Info Keeper, you need the following:
   - an IBM compatible computer
