ABOUT:
WallPaper is a simple windows wallpaper changer. There are many programs like it but this one is mine. Point it towards a folder containing graphics files and it will select one at random and display it as wallpaper. Tile or centre will depend on your settings in display properties (background). The period between changes is between 1 and 100 (your choice). The period is loosely based on 1 minutes (nearer 1 min 10 sec). It requires less than 0.01 seconds of CPU time to check between periods and 0.01 - 0.05 seconds to change the wallpaper depending on the size (bytes) of the selected graphics file. The file name of your original graphic currently being displayed is shown in the main window title bar and as tool tip text for the icon in the system tray. The first graphic is displayed after your elapsed period (tool tip and title bar do not display graphic name until after this period). The program creates registry settings in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\WallPaper\. These are used to store your selected time period, registration key, folder locations for graphic files and your chosen graphics editor path. The screen show changes the period from minutes to seconds. It can also randomly change the wallpaper once and then exit. Some functions are only available from the menu that you can also get when hovering the mouse over the icon in the system tray and right clicking on it.

INSTALLATION:
Unzip the zip file. You can store it in any folder and place a shortcut to your start-up folder if you want it to run automatically each time you run windows. That's it.

UNINSTALLATION:
Delete the WallPaper.exe file and remove the registry settings (caution: if you do not know how to edit the registry do not try. The settings will not cause any problems if you leave them).

Install/Uninstall routines have not been included as they would be bigger than the program itself and as it is only one file with this readme.txt it seemed a little over the top so I didn't bother.

USING WALLPAPER:
Open the main window by clicking on the icon in the system tray. Select your graphics folder, click Add to add the folder to the list of folders, set your time period and wait. If you can't wait, press Random Wallpaper Change Now. That's all there is to it. To exit the program either close the main window (if it is open) or right click on the system tray icon and select exit. You can add as many folders as you want and the program will select a file at random from the list of folders (any stats buffs can test the random feature if you have nothing better to do). You can remove a folder from the list or add one at any time. Just ensure that at least 1 folder is in the list or the same wallpaper will continue to be displayed (not much point in that). The screen show can be run from the right click menu on the tray icon or by changing the period from minutes to seconds. To gain access to functions not shown on the main screen use the menu. This can also be displayed by hovering the mouse over the icon in the system tray and right clicking the mouse. You can restore the main screen, change the wallpaper, edit the wallpaper, delete the wallpaper file, run/stop the screen show, see the about screen and exit the program.
