/*****************************************************************/

RFFlow is the ideal program for creating a wide variety of
flowcharts, organization charts, and diagrams for education,
business, and industry.

/*****************************************************************/

The trial version of RFFlow has the restriction that you can
only put 16 objects in your chart. Everything else is fully
functional, but you can only draw small charts with the trial
version of RFFlow. The trial does not stop you from drawing
lines, so you should place your shapes first. After placing
16 shapes, then connect them. The trial version
of RFFlow is trialware which is a form of Shareware.

We urge you to give the trial version of RFFlow to your
friends so they can try it out too. The trial version of RFFlow
is freely distributable. You can download the most recent
version of the trial from our Web site at www.rff.com.

The author of RFFlow is Roger Faaborg who can be
contacted at roger@rff.com.

          2. BASIC INSTALLATION

1. Use PKZip 2.50 to unzip the file rftri403.zip. Find the file
setup.exe and run it.

2. The RFFlow setup program will run and it will step you
through the installation process. Basically, you will need
to decide where you want the RFFlow executable files to be
stored and where you want your flowcharts stored. You can
always accept the default folders. The RFFlow setup program
allows you to install RFFlow on a local hard drive or on a
network.

/**************************************************************/

          3. NETWORK INSTALLATION

These are the instructions for installing rfflow.exe in a
folder that is shared by the users. It is up to you whether
you want rfflow.exe installed on each user's hard disk or
only once on the server. The licensing is based on the
number of concurrent users, not how the program is installed.
The files are small so you are not saving much space by running
rfflow.exe from the server.

1. First run setup.exe from the CD-ROM, diskettes,
   or unzipped files .

2. Select the "Network Install/Remove" button to get
to the "Network Installation or Removal" dialog box.

3. First do the server part of the installation.

4. Click on the Install button in the Network Server
group. This will copy all the files in the \FILES
directory of the CD-ROM to your file server. You
have to supply the name of the folder on the file
server where you want the files copied. This part
of the installation does not write to the Windows
Registry. It only copies files from the CD-ROM to
   your file server.

5. Next do the client workstation part of the installation.

6. This time run setup.exe from the file server and not
from the CD-ROM. By running setup.exe from the file
server, the program will be able to fill in the path
   to the file server.

7. Run setup.exe from the file server and click on the
"Network Install/Remove" button. Then click on the
Install button in the Network Client Workstation group.

8. This will write information to the Windows Registry so
the user needs the appropriate permissions. You will
be asked to supply the path to the server files. If you
ran RFFlow from the server, the edit box will already
contain the correct path. You will also be asked to
supply the folder where you want flowchart files stored.
The other questions involve whether you want a shortcut
on your desktop, in the Start menu, and whether you want
to copy the sample flowchart files. Then the program
copies these files to your charts directory:

init.flo (initialization file, needed so the user can)
                  (customize the stencils.)
rfshapes.ini (ini file for RFEdit shapes, from version 3)

   userdic.tlx (user personal dictionaries)
   correct.tlx
   accent.tlx
   html.tlx

   some sample .flo files.

9. Next the setup program writes information into the
   Windows Registry.

The RFFlow program installs only one dll which is used for
spelling checking. It is placed in the same folder as
rfflow.exe. The RFFlow program installs no other dlls.

The registration number should be entered in the box
when it is requested, but there is no checking. You
can leave the box blank if you don't know the number.

The shared files occupy less than 4 MB of disk space.
A working folder occupies less than 300K bytes of disk space.

Each time RFFlow runs, it checks that it is registered and
will try to register if it is not. If you have questions, call 970-663-5767 or e-mail help@rff.com

          5. REMOVING RFFLOW FROM YOUR SYSTEM

A. Removing RFFlow from a local hard disk.

Click on Start, Settings, and Control Panel. In Control
Panel double-click Add/Remove Programs. Find RFFlow and
click on the Add/Remove button. RFFlow setup will run.
Click on the Remove button in the local hard disk section.
The setup program looks in the registry to find where the
RFFlow files are located and removes them. Then it removes
registry entries. If you have RFFlow installed more than
once on a system, setup will remove the installation that
is referred to in the registry. For the other installations,
setup will ask you to find the directory of each RFFlow
installation and then setup can remove the files.

Setup does not remove any data files. (.flo) These
will have to be deleted by the user.

B. Removing RFFlow from a network.

1. Remove RFFlow from each workstation before
   removing the server files.

2. Click on Start, Settings, and Control Panel.
   Double-click Add/Remove Programs. Find RFFlow
in the list and click on the Add/Remove button.

3. After removing RFFlow from the Workstations,
run setup from the server and click on the
Remove button associated with the server. This
will delete all the files on the server that
   are not data files.

4. No data files are deleted. You will have
to remove these or back them up yourself.
