(This is a duplicate of HELP.TXT included since some ftp sites
require a readme.txt file to be enclosed.)

Most of the help is avaiable within the program
by clicking HELP.

------
-Note- In The Unregistered Version :
------
The trial period for Unregistered FTPDummy! is 20-days.
You will be posted warnings on day 10 and 20. After 20 days,
the program will not upload files until you register.

The registration amount is very modest ($18) compared to the power
of this program. Please click REGISTER on the main window in the
program for details.

------------------ HELP ON SETTINGS -------------------------
=============================================================
If you have trouble with the settings of the program
a short description of SETTINGS follows:

In the SITE field, enter a full site name
such as : eagle.geocities.com
	  somewhere.someplace.com
	  123.456.789
	  etc.

In the USER and PASSWORD fields, enter your username
and password such as :
	  harry123
	  ******
	  etc.
This should be fairly self explanatory.

In the DIRECTORY field, you can leave this BLANK
or enter a directory name such as :
          mydirectory
          mydirectory/
          mydirectory/files
          mydirectory/files/
          etc.

Make sure you don't include a slash before the initial directory
name, this indicates the root account which you probably don't
have access too.

Clicking on SAVE PASSWORD IN PREFERENCES indicates whether you
want the password _also_ remembered in the preference file (along
with the other fields you entered). This is so that each time you
run the program, the fields are remembered and filled in for you.
Some people wouldn't want the password stored in a file for security
reasons.
However, FTPDummy! includes password encryption in the data file
so that you can not view the password.

Once you're satisfied with the entry, click OK to save it.

- NEW in v2.3 : DummyProofed Error Handling, Sound Effects, Global Animations
                Web Publishing Wizard, FTP Site Picker -
===============================================================================

-- DummyProofed Errors --
FTPDummy! v2.3 now has enhanced error checking in the Settings screen
to be sure you enter a correct ftp server address and directory. Many
users have had trouble figuring out their ftp server addresses to connect
to or would enter them in wrong. Now these errors are all checked before
hand to give you a much easier use from FTPDummy!. Also, upon connecting,
if you get a "Access denied" type of error because of the remote directory
you entered, it will now offer you the option of instantly removing the
directory and just continue connecting into the main directory.

-- Sound Effects --
Neat sound effects have been added throughout the program including
button clicks, connections, upload/download, disconnections, file completion,
sound on/off, and a few interesting others! Also a new Sound On/Off button
has been added to the Settings screen. Just to add the bells and whistles.

-- Global Animations --
Upon connecting, an animated globe can be seen on the connecting screen.
Also on your ftp screen (after connected), any screen refresh or directory
change will animate the little globe in the upper right corner of the screen.

-- Web Publishing Wizard --
Just gives you some easier insight to managing your web page files and
getting them published on the web. It is mainly as a check-point screen
for those of you who are very new to the web design system.

-- FTP Site Picker --
Possibly the best add-on to FTPDummy! v2.3. In the Settings screen if you
click on the little '?' button, you get a screen that gives you all the
information you need to figure out what your FTP Server Address should be.
You can even pick from a list of Internet Access Providers and have the
information instantly plugged in for you, such as the tricky AOL ftp
information. If all fails and you still can't find one, it can even try
to guess what yours is by examining your email address.

=============================================================
- HOW TO USE : SAVING MULTIPLE FTP SITES IN PREFERENCES -
=============================================================

You can enter multiple sites by simply entering a new site name,
user information, password and click OK.

-- Selecting the Entries --
To select the different sites, you can click on the pull-down
button next to the SITE name field and it will list all the ftp sites
you have entered.
Once you select a site, the username, password, and other fields
will fill in automatically to what you had them at before for that
site. Any further changes you make will be saved once you hit OK in
the settings.

-- Adding a New Entry --
If the site name field currently has something entered already (such as
a previously selected ftp site) just begin typing over it and enter
all the new information and then click OK. This will enter a new site into
the preferences file as long as the site name is a new one.

Likewise, to change any fields on an already existing entry, just select the
entry from the pulldown, modify the fields such as the password, username, or
directory, and then click OK. This will update the entry.

-- Removing an Entry --
Currently there is no Delete button for the ftp sites under the
settings screen. Therefore, if you do want to erase some ftp sites,
or just make a whole new list of sites, you'll have to delete the
file called "uploader.dat" (the only file created by the program probably
in the same folder as the program is). This will force the program to
create a new one for you. Maybe the next version I'll add a delete
key for it.

I hope the controls for the Settings screen are easy to understand.
If they are not, please LET ME KNOW and I'll change them so they _are_
easy for all users to use.

=============================================================
- Y2K Compliancy : FTPDummy! IS YEAR 2000 COMPLIANT (Y2K) -
=============================================================
FTPDummy! has been updated to include a new Year 2000 and up
data interface. If all goes well, the program should last well
into the year 9999, then again, I suppose we'll all have evolved
into something much wackier by then. :)
